Forgot About Cali

Oops so I thought I was all caught up on vacation updates, but I still had a ton of Cali pictures from our short 3 days there. Even though we stayed in Vegas longer our Cali trip was packed, we were getting 5 hours of sleep every night because we wanted to see everything before we left.

Oh this is from Vegas right a few days before we left. David thought he beat me at shuffleboard... but he was wrong :P!

haha I was red by the way.

Our first night in Hollywood, after a 7 hour Greyhound bus ride... The bus ride was a whole nother story... We walked up and down Hollywood Blvd, stopping at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Then we stopped for some pizza, which they had plenty of.

Day 2

We went on one of those guided tours... yes we are super touristy.

This is how I look when I try to serenade you :P

Then later that night we took a bus to Santa Monica Beach, just as the sun set. It was chillllay! Cali gets so cold, I was not prepared. But nonetheless we spread out our towels and relaxed on the beach. Then we played a game of "get as close to the water as you can without letting a wave touch you". Surprisingly the water was still a bit warm, and no jelly stings :)

The pier had a carnival and looked awesome at night.

We had ceramic portraits done of both our faces, except they never dried properly and some guy smushed my face in at the airport :( But the street artist was AMAZING. We convinced him to stay late to finish ours since we were leaving the next day.

Last Day in Cali

I had to make a stop at In-and-Out burger, after hearing so many good things about it. I'm not a big fan of burgers but it was very yummy. I have to say though.. the fries are better than the burger. They taste like they've been baked and not fried in oil.

After making our way around Cali I think David and I have a pretty good understanding of public transportation now. This man above was waiting at the subway to help lost tourists (for tips of course) all day. He even got on the same bus to make sure we didn't get lost... Then he showed us his panther tattoo? haha

Since we were flying out of the Orange County airport we had to take the subway to Union Square in LA, a train from LA to OC, and then a bus to the airport. But we made it! What a trip.

There is so much more I want to post but it's been a long day... and I've picked up working out again.. so sore. Time to study, bye!

Fall Cleaning

I'm so ready for Fall. Since early August I've been stocking up on outerwear.

The weather has been making me feel very lethargic and I dread walking around campus so much. Lately all I want to do is lay in bed and read. I've started to cherish every free moment I have to myself. Today I decided to do some much needed cleaning and organizing so my mom will stop trying to do it for me! Anyway I ended up piling all my clothes on my bed and refolding stacks of skirts, shorts, shirts, and dresses as well as taking inventory of everything. As I amass more and more clothes I sometimes forget an article here or there and when I find it it's like new clothing! I need to shop my own closet sometimes. Anyhoo I managed to finish separating my fall from summer clothes in separate drawers and I feel much more relaxed.

Fast Forward

I've been procrastinating when it comes to blogging lately. This is one last huge vegas post.

Day 3

Since our room had a full kitchen stocked with all the kitchenware and a shuttle to the local grocery store we stocked up on food. We bought about 50 dollars worth of food that fed us for 3 days in vegas!! haha which saved some money to gamble with. :)

Wore this dress with some nice heels, and brought a blazer since it is freezing in the casinos. Then halfway down the strip my poor feet couldn't take it anymore. I'm usually willing to suffer a few blisters to wear shoes that make my outfit look cute..but I caved and we stopped to buy flip flops. Worth every penny! Props to the girls that wear heels in Vegas.

My hands are bigger than nick jonas!

Had to make a stop at the m&m store. So pretttyyy!!!

Day 4

We went to the town square in vegas which had a TON of shops and we went to the theater. We also tried the crepes filled with nutella.

Later that night we went to the strip and watched Le Reve at the Wynn hotel. The water stage was amazing. We couldn't take pictures during but this was what it looked like at the end.

The show was followed by another late night at the casino watching david play poker.

Day 5

We went to the Forum Shops

We meant to go through the Forum Shops as a shortcut but ended up making a huge circle.

On to the Venetian!

Then we took the shuttle to the Rio for some seafood buffet!

Yup sashimi and desert :)

After we stuffed our faces silly we walked up and down the strip to all the places we hadn't seen yet. This is Crystals City Center.

At first we thought this was a giant blow-dryer.

But looking closer we found out it was a restaurant! Hard to see but there are people in it haha.

Bye for now... I haven't even posted about Cali yet :X so behind haha

Day 2

I know my updates have been coming absurdly slow... But school just started and I have two interviews coming up in the next week. I finally had a chance to work out today at school :) awesome feeling sweating from working out and then walking around campus in the blistering heat -.- Then around 5:30 walking to my gen lecture it started raining... love houston weather.

Day 2 Outfit

Inside Miracle Mile shops near planet hollywood. The ceilings and shops were so realistic. They even had a part of the mall that rained and thundered from the ceiling.

Won $30 from $1 :)

Shopped til we dropped.

Tried to take a picture with my david... but this man got in the way.

Recovering

There are so many pictures to sort through. I started with Day 1 so expect more updates as I have more free time. It's been so crazy since getting back. I was looking forward to Vegas and Cali since I haven't had a vacation in so long, but it was very tiring. It is impossible to see everything in Vegas in only 5 days!

Since coming home Aug. 14th I had to prepare for my San Antonio interview on the 16th. I also have one in Lubbock on the 19-20th and one in Fort Worth on the 26th.

Exploring the resort

We checked in at 4 PM and after taking a quick break in our room we changed into swimsuits to enjoy some sun by the pool.

Then we changed to walk around the strip.

Wynn hotel and casino.

Loved this hotel!

We decided to eat at the Wynn buffet the first night before the Blue Man Group at the Venetian. The food was AMAZING. haha there is a lack of pictures because we were too busy devouring our food. I ate sooo many alaskan snow crab legs, and shrimp, and steak *drools

Us before the Blue Man Group. We sat 3 rows from the stage, in the poncho zone. haha luckily we did not get splashed. But seeing the blue men up close was very cool.

That is all for now. I've been enjoying any free time I have to lounge around not doing anything. It's been a nice and very welcomed break to just lay in bed reading. I'm currently reading "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" on my kindle and the next on my list is "The Help".
