Sigh

Finally new room pictures! If everyone remembers this was what my old room looked like... at it's worst (below). I don't know what it was intended to be when the house was built but it was tiny and I have a lot of stuff.

This is the new room!

David helped me take everything apart, and literally moved every piece of furniture around. I had dust allergies for days afterward but it feels good to have room to WALK around in. I have made a few changes since and will post up pictures of the closet soon. I ordered a shoe rack that will be coming in 5-7 days...yay!

So I looked into possible mission trips I could go on this year or next year and I found a great one to Vietnam, where I would be volunteering at an orphanage teaching english and possibly learning Vietnamese from the kiddos :). The cost comes out to be around 1300, which isn't too bad. Hopefully things will work out, my parents would probably not believe it if they heard it.

I also hope to do study abroad next summer, and travel as much as I can before med school. Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Paris, and London!!! So excited.

Last night and continuing into this morning (5 AM to be exact) I was immersed in this book, "The Twentieth Wife". I picked it up at Boarders yesterday so that I could read it on the plane to Vegas. However I took a break from studying, intending to only read the first chapter and I couldn't put it down! The best book I have read in a loonnnnng time. I am excited to read the second book, "The Feast of Roses", which follows the heroine, Mehrunnisa. It is interesting because it is based on certain historical facts and the love affair of a Prince and commoner.

  1. Stina's old room is so big now! I've been looking up mission trips too, but they cost a little more than 1300. Which organization did you look at? I really want to do one this fall.
